Cookie Notice

This Cookie Notice explains how Aedificon AB ("Aedificon", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the website at https://aedificon.ai and on the Aedificon account portal (together, the "Website"). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. The short version

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Website to work. We do not use functional, analytics, advertising, marketing, or social-media tracking cookies.
Because no consent is required for strictly-necessary cookies under EU law, we do not show a cookie consent banner. This Cookie Notice exists for transparency.
The A+ Tool Suite plugin itself does not use cookies. Cookies are only relevant when you visit the Website.
When you proceed to checkout, you leave our Website and are taken to Paddle's checkout domain. Paddle sets its own cookies on its own domain — see §4 below for what Paddle is and why this matters.

A "cookie" is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits or page loads, and to store small amounts of information needed for the website to function.

Throughout this Notice, "cookies" also covers similar technologies with equivalent effect — such as local-storage entries, session storage, and similar small data items stored on your device by the Website.

Cookies can be classified along two dimensions:

First-party (set by the Website you are visiting) or third-party (set by a different domain loaded into the page);
Session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (remain until they expire or are deleted).

Under EU and Swedish law (in particular Directive 2002/58/EC, the "ePrivacy Directive", as implemented in Sweden by the Electronic Communications Act, Lag (2022:482) om elektronisk kommunikation), some cookies require your consent and some do not. Strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent; functional, analytics, marketing and similar cookies do. Because we use only strictly-necessary cookies, we do not need to ask for or store your consent.

3. Cookies we use

These cookies are essential for the Website to function and to deliver the services you have requested. They cannot be switched off without breaking parts of the Website.

Legal basis: strictly-necessary cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive. They are processed on the basis of the legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure Website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and they are exempt from the consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

What we do not use:

Functional / preference cookies — none. The Website does not store any user preferences (such as theme, language, or dismissed-notice state) in cookies.
Analytics cookies — none. We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, or any other web-analytics service that places cookies on your device.
Marketing / advertising cookies — none. We do not use marketing, advertising, retargeting, or social-media tracking cookies.

4. About Paddle and checkout cookies

Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited, based in the United Kingdom and Ireland) is our merchant of record. That means Paddle is the legal seller of the Software to you for the purposes of payment processing, invoicing, VAT, and refunds. When you buy a license at aedificon.ai, you are redirected from our Website to Paddle's own checkout domain (paddle.com / checkout.paddle.com) to complete payment. Aedificon never sees your full payment-card details — those are handled exclusively by Paddle. After payment, you are returned to aedificon.ai. The license and the support relationship are with Aedificon; the payment relationship is with Paddle. You can read more about Paddle in our Privacy Policy.

Because Paddle's checkout pages are on Paddle's own domain, Paddle sets its own cookies there to process the payment, prevent fraud, and meet its regulatory obligations. Aedificon does not control these cookies and they are governed by Paddle's own policies:

5. The A+ Tool Suite plugin does not use cookies

The Aedificon plugin runs locally inside Autodesk Revit on your device. It does not set cookies. License activation uses local files and authenticated API calls, not cookies. Telemetry that the plugin transmits (such as plugin version, Revit version, Autodesk Account email at activation, and license-activation events) is described in the Privacy Policy.

This Cookie Notice is therefore relevant only when you visit the Website in a browser.

6. How to control cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:

view the cookies stored on your device and delete them individually or in bulk;
block cookies from specific sites or all sites;
block third-party cookies specifically;
delete all cookies when you close the browser.

The exact steps depend on your browser. The browser vendor's help pages (for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave or another browser) explain how. Note that blocking the strictly-necessary cookies listed in §3 may break parts of the Website (for example, you may not be able to log in).

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one. Because we do not use marketing or analytics cookies, the GPC signal has no additional effect — there is nothing to opt out of beyond what we already do not do.

Cookie data is processed by:

Aedificon (the controller of first-party cookies);
Auth0 by Okta — for the authentication cookie used in the account portal, acting as our processor;
Microsoft Azure — for any infrastructure cookies, acting as our processor;
Paddle — independently, on Paddle's own domain, for payment processing.

8. International transfers

Some cookies described above are operated by service providers based outside the European Economic Area or owned by non-EEA parents (notably Auth0/Okta, US-owned). For all such transfers we rely on the same safeguards described in §4 of the Privacy Policy — primarily Standard Contractual Clauses (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914), supplemented where applicable by EU Commission adequacy decisions and by appropriate technical and organisational measures.

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always available at https://aedificon.ai/cookies.

If we ever introduce a non-strictly-necessary cookie category (functional, analytics, marketing, or other), we will update this Cookie Notice before the change takes effect, and at that point we will introduce a cookie consent banner and require your consent before any such cookies are set. As long as we use only strictly-necessary cookies, no banner appears and no consent is requested.
